Conference Travel Policy
Attendance by staff, Administrators and Trustees at Library related meetings are encouraged when schedules can be covered. Requests for payment of conference related expenses are subject to Administrative approval and must be documented.
For attendance at single day conferences, the Library will pay for registration, transportation, and conference program functions. Lodging for up to one night will be provided only when necessary for attendance.
For attendance at multi-day conferences, the Library will pay for registration, transportation, and conference program functions. For meal expenses for Administrators and staff, the Library will reimburse up to $60.00 per day (three meals). Each conference program meal paid by the Library will reduce the meal payment for the day by one third. The Library will not reimburse costs for alcoholic beverages. The Library will pay for lodging at a reasonably priced conference hotel or equivalent. For staff, the Library will pay for no more than three attendees at an overnight conference. However, additional staff may be granted administrative leave.
This policy will be reviewed by the Board of Trustees whenever appropriate.
