Our local history collection comprises books, documents, photographs, maps, newspapers, and yearbooks. We focus on collecting and making available those items that are of historical, legal, fiscal, and administrative value to the East Orange Public Library, the City of East Orange, the County of Essex, and the State of New Jersey.
Our city directories are useful when searching for family history. Our microfilmed newspapers provide a look into the city’s past. Our departmental annual reports give a glimpse of the city’s governance through the years.
