EOPL - The first Ampere Branch

Old East Orange Public Library

Ampere Branch Library
On March 17, 1923, Ampere Branch opened in two rented stores at 57 Fourth Avenue. The location is currently occupied by a convenience store. The branch moved into a building of its own, a converted firehouse at 39 Ampere Plaza, in March 1931. Ampere Branch is the only library facility in the city not built with Carnegie funds.
